I have a 2001 GMC truck with the 5.3 l engine. Do throttle body spacers increase torque and horsepower on this type of engine? If so, what happens to fuel economy? I'd like a little more torque for towing.

Thanks,
Al T

I put a poweraid throtle body spacer pn my 1996 chevy tahoe. It made a whisleing sound at a certain throtle position and did nothing for power or milage, very disopointed. What did help power was a Granitelly mass air flow sensor, and an electric cooling fan.

Throttle body spacers dont do anything unless if you've got TBI (throttly body injection), which is like an electronic carb, so to speak.
