People, you cannot stay in the left lane it is only used for passing. You
have to move back into the right lane after passing. If you can't
understand this, READ your motor vehicle driving manual, it shoudl
clearly point that out. I am sick of seeing the cars in the right lane going
faster than the left lane because 1) everyone is in the left lane and 2)
people don't move back into the right lane which is normally less full.
People need to learn how to drive, this is crazy.

If you're doing 100 in the left lane, and someone comes up behind you,
you should move over. They want to go faster. Get the hell out of their

I think it have become too dangerous on the highways. People don't
care anymore, they just do whatever they want. Just this past weekend
I saw so many potential accidents so I just had to back off and drive
very safely. Its better to stay home than be a victim of road rage.

I hate when this happens. There are people out there that purposely do
not move out of the left lane, no matter how may flashes you give them
or how close you get to them. They tie up traffic for miles and don't
give a *&$@. This is one reason of road rage, people get hate when
you drive slow in the left lane. MOVE Over, it will be alot safer for
you....

First off let me take care of andretti the know-it-all, who posted a
rediculous message earlier on this message board. The purpose of this
board is to ALLOW PEOPLE TO SHARE THEIR VIEW POINTS
to maybe POSSIBLY try to come up with some plan that may help
control some of the problems found on the highways OR at least
VENT their problems so that they don't turn into road rage or "murder"
on the road. Who knows it could be YOU who they go out and kill....
Ever think of that... No of course not.... You are just another one of
those self-center drivers who doesn't give a God *** about the
problems out their and just contributes to them .. Then turns around
and Sue's the living daylights out of them if somethings happens to you.
Am I not right? Also, we in America DO NOT HAVE TO LEARN
TO LIVE WITH!!! Because if that was the case we wouldn't be
where we are today -- probably would still be part of England!! This
country got founded because people DID NOT LIVE WITH THE
PROBLEMS -- THEY TRIED TO CHANGE THEM... That is what

The left lane was created for PASSING another vehical AT THE
POSTED SPEED LIMIT AND NO HIGHER...

Tailgating is out of the question.... It is annoying...
Ridiculas...Worthlesss... and does nothing but STRESS YOU OUT
and put you at higher risk for an accident. You don't get anywhere
faster and for the most part you either a.) can't change the driver's mind
in front of you to change his / her speed b.) Even if the person in front
of you WANTED to go faster maybe he / she can't because the car(s)
in front of them are moving slower.... If someone starts to tailgate me
I'll give them an extra 5 or 10 mph and if they dont think that that's
enough they get 5 or 10 mph below the posted speed limit-- safe or
not these people need to be taught a good lesson... Maybe charging
higher insurance costs to tailgaters instead of "safe / responsible
speeders" will help to solve this problem OR maybe they just need to
be taken off of the road all together.

I challenge ANYONE to post their opionions to try to change my mind
on what I have just typed....

This idiot is just the kind of person that drives in the left lane. They think they are some sort of authority figure, and therefore will do whatever they want - when they want. If this *** would just read the signs that say "slower traffic keep right" they would see that it DOESN'T say drivers going less than the speed limit stay in the right lane(s). He says we cannot change the mind of the person driving in front of us. NO ***!! Why should we have to?? To take some of their own advice, maybe they should realize that people never will go the speed limit, and that they are not the ones who are to enforce us to do so!!! Follow the regulations of the manual that you got when you got your license. The dept. of transportation knows that people will speed. That is why the wording in the manual and the sign reads the way it does. Move over you moron!! You're not a cop, and you have no right whatsoever to slow us down. Yes we may be breaking the law by speeding, but you are going to cause someone to do something stupid, which will eventually cause an accident which will more than likely involve more than just you. Do you want you irresponsible "I'm in charge" way of thinking to be the cause of someone getting hurt or worse?? Follow your own advice pal, get the hell out of the way. Not because WE want you to, but because the D.O.T. does too.

You sound like one of those jerks that come hauling a-- up behind you and ride your bumper until you move over. I like to teach those kinds of drivers a lesson and stomp on my brakes really hard. (cause if you hit me we know who's fault it's going to be)Usually that doesn't happen though because you've figured out a way around me and have cut me off. Is there a fire some where you need to get too?????

I come up behind you going say, 78MPH. You are going 70MPH in the left lane. As I near you. You show no sign of moving over. I blink to move around you to the right without slowing. As I am crossing the line and start to pass you. You decide to move over for me after all. Do you know how fast I'm going to run up on you by just going 8MPH faster than you? the one simple thing you can do it is expensive and in most states illegal but just invest in wheelens 90 watt strobe kit with the flashing headlight module works great every time

race can definally tell ur from the south first off all it is illegal and is a 3 point fine the left lane is for passing only in every state...with this it is made that way for people like my self who are so called police officers. living in newy york is hell there is no diffrence in lanes all are going the same speed but it amazing when a cop comes by every one goes to the right lane it is common scence but im guess you dont have that and im talking about the common scence in your head not your poket

If anyone approches a vehical in that situation and does hit the slower vehical-albeit it is going 70MHP and that's not too slow-the vehical that caused the impact would be Mr.78 MHP and would result in a ticket for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. Who gives a *** if people choose to live in the left lane? There really isn't a need to be going over the posted speedlimit. Seems to me that anyone that has to constantly *** about the "slow" leftlaners who are going clearly over the limit already is someone who obviously doesn't have the common sense to leave home 10 minutes early to ensure they get to their destination safely without incident.Must be nice to have nothing any worse going on in your life than banter about how terrible it is you can't go 100MPH in the left lane whenever you want to.

I've been on both sides and it all just comes down to one observance: people just care about themselves. I hate having someone come up on my butt and tailgate me when I'm in the passing lane. But only when there are a string of cars ahead of me in the left lane as well. Where am I supposed to go? Does tailing me make me want to move over? No. These people are idiots. However, I have been in the passing lane and come up on some fool on their phone that doesn't have a care in the world and will not move over. Pass the car and get back over in the non-passing lane. It amazes me how many times I see drivers merge onto the higway and immediately get in the left lane, and cars in the right lane are moving faster. People are just selfish and don't care.

You are right, the left lane is for passing. However, it is also a traffic lane. If traffic is backed up, it makes no difference whether you flash your lights or tailgate. You still won't get to go any faster.

To the person who wants to teach somebody a lesson by slamming on his/her brakes. I have a feeling that the only person who will be taught a lesson is you. I am a police officer, and I gave a lady a reckless driving ticket for doing this. She was so busy being angry at the other driver, she didn't think about the fact that she could have killed her unborn child in the resulting crash. By the way, the other driver also got a ticket.
Fact of the matter is, there are many cases in which both drivers contribute to a crash, and both can be given tickets.

Mr. 78MPH, you would get the ticket because you were speeding. If the person occupying the left lane is travelling at the speed limit, and you weren't speeding, there would be no need to pass. Your speed led to the crash, plain and simple.

Truth be told, there are way too many selfish drivers out there.
