hi!
jus got this 1978 daihatsu charade.....
thinking of changing to synthetic oil for the engine.
wat should i beware of?

| im not quite sure as i have not made teh switch yet myself, but i hear that it is alright, but once you make the switch, you should be leery about switching back... |

| You can use synthetic oil for an older vehicle. I used it for 300,000 in my old SAAB. If the car you have is not in good mechanical shape you may be wasting your money. The synthetic oil is very thin and if your engine has any mechanical problems or blow by it will only be worse!!! Hence, you will use more oil since the engine is worn! I have asked many mechanics about changing back and they say it should be no problem. I use Amsoil synthetic oil and it seems to work the best. This is the first company to make synthetic oil for cars!! Check out their website at Amsoil.com.. Good luck! |
